New Global Rankings and Enhanced Features
Trip.Gourmet, the leading food travel guide from Trip.com Group, has unveiled its refreshed global restaurant rankings at the Trip.Gourmet Global Rebrand Launch and Trip.Best Gourmet Awards. Held at the Sands Expo & Convention Centre, Marina Bay Sands, this event underscores Trip.Gourmet’s commitment to enhancing the food travel experience for its users.
Expanded Restaurant Categories
Trip.Gourmet has introduced a refreshed global ranking system covering over 10,000 restaurants in more than 300 cities and regions. The new rankings feature four distinct themes: Fine Dining, Local Restaurants, Light Bites, and Restaurants with Scenic Views. These categories offer a blend of travel and dining experiences, highlighting restaurants based on quality, user reviews, and their travel-related attributes.
Integration with Trip.Best Lists
In a significant upgrade, Trip.Gourmet is now integrated with Trip.Best lists on the Trip.com app. This integration provides a seamless user experience by combining top restaurant recommendations with information on accommodations, activities, and nightlife, all within a single platform.
Celebrating Fine Dining Excellence
The awards ceremony honoured several prestigious fine dining venues from the Asia-Pacific region. Among the top selections were Odette and Waku Ghin by Tetsuya Wakuda in Singapore; Kubu at Mandapa in Bali; Potong and Le Du in Bangkok; SÉZANNE and RyuGin in Tokyo; and La Yeon and Bicena in Seoul. The Black Diamond list, which recognises the highest calibre of dining establishments, featured 49.12% of restaurants from France, China, and Japan, showcasing their global influence in the fine dining scene.
Luxury Hotel Dining Trends
The event also highlighted the growing trend of dining at luxury hotel restaurants. Trip.Gourmet’s rankings now include 41% hotel-based dining options, reflecting a rising preference among affluent travellers. Noteworthy mentions include Lai Po Heen at the Mandarin Oriental in Kuala Lumpur, JAAN by Kirk Westaway in Swissôtel The Stamford Singapore, and Ossiano at Atlantis, The Palm Dubai. The Four Seasons and Ritz-Carlton brands were particularly prominent, with top-rated restaurants in major cities like Hong Kong, Paris, Tokyo, and Osaka.
Enhanced Reservation Features
Trip.Gourmet now offers direct reservations at over 50,000 restaurants worldwide, thanks to partnerships with leading booking platforms. This feature simplifies the reservation process and is integrated with platforms such as The Fork in Europe, Chope in Southeast Asia, OpenRice in Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan, OpenTable in North America, and TableCheck in Japan.
Introducing the Food Guide Channel
To further enrich travellers’ culinary experiences, Trip.Gourmet has launched a new Food Guide Channel on both Trip.com and Ctrip. This channel highlights local culinary gems, offering recommendations on must-try dishes and speciality food lists. It complements Trip.com’s Travel Guides feature, which covers a wide range of travel needs including food, entertainment, transportation, and accommodation.
New Campaign Launch
In collaboration with Shangri-La, Trip.Gourmet has introduced the “Taste the Season” campaign, which combines luxury hotel stays with signature dishes and food vouchers. This campaign aligns with the increasing popularity of luxury hotel dining and features a mini-drama series produced for social media to promote the initiative.
